Wow it has been a loooooong time since I've been on here, April 2009..is it possible?
Been a very productive year for the family.
Ty graduated from 1st Grade and is now in the 2nd Grade. Math being his favorite subject as he continues to ace every exam and standardized test. Now he just has to conquer understanding what he reads....this friday will be the results so we'll see if the 40+ practice tests at home have helped. He is progressing well in Cub Scouts and was the first in his Den to earn his Wolf badge. Getting ready for the upcoming Pinewood Derby in February. Last year he won most unique and because his father screwed up the weight placement his car was more like a turtle than a speeding car. At least everyone got the chance to see how unique it was as it crawled by...
Melisa is continuing to make sure everyone gets paid on time at work. She has stepped up her scrapbooking equipment....new photo printer and netbook. Now we'll see when something pops out of the forbidden zone (for Ty andn I anyway) of a scrapbooking room.
I'm working and finishing up my Masters Degree this December that I've been working on. So far so good.
Had a near death experience with my Father in November. He contracted H1N1 with double pneumonia which led to Acute Respiratory Disorder, which took the life of many people this year. At 60 years old hes still strong as an ox with a will to survive stronger than anyone I know. After 3 weeks of hospitalization, most spent in ICU he came home the day before Thanksgiving. He has a 6 month road to recovery at home with supplemental oxygen when needed but has astonished the medical profession that he survived.....as his family we are blessed and extremely greatful he is still with us. The powers of prayer, positive thinking and a strong will brought us through this.
Eagerly awaiting the start up of next camping season in March.
Now hopefully I will post again before next year :)
